Spirit of Humane’s products were developed on our family farm, approximately 60 miles northeast of Minneapolis, near the Minnesota and Wisconsin border. Manufacturing takes place nearby in the small town of Boyceville, Wisconsin. We believe in keeping production and the jobs created local for the benefit of our rural community.
We began our journey into farming in 1989 with six goats and a small group of sheep, mostly for weed control and healthy food alternatives. We built up to 300 head on leased land before we purchased a 140-acre farm from a retiring dairy farmer. We now have over 500 breeding animals and during the summer months we often have over 800 young goats and lambs on our pastures and rented property.
Our lambs and goats grow naturally on Wisconsin meadows. The cool northern summers of the upper Midwest produce outstanding clover pastures producing premium, lean lamb and goat in a healthy environment. Our animals live in the open air and sunshine.
We do not confine our animals to stalls, on concrete or in feedlots. Our sustainable farming method replenishes the soil and supports a variety of plants and animals as they flourish and live in harmony with nature. Quality of life for our animals is one of our main values.
